ABOUT

The Hour Glass is an historic pub at the heart of the Brompton Quarter, just a couple of minutes’ from South Kensington tube station. Run by Dave Turcan and Luke Mackay who also own Brompton Food Market, a food shop and deli just round the corner on Thurloe Place, the Hour Glass is a traditional London boozer – small and perfectly formed with plenty of ledges to prop yourself up against with a pint of ale in one hand and a homemade scotch egg in the other. Upstairs there’s new dining room; a beautiful light and airy room with traditional elements but an informal, modern feel.

Food is served in the pub as well as the dining room with everything from bar snacks such as scotch eggs, sausage rolls, homemade pork scratchings and pork pies, to a full menu containing beautifully cooked seasonal British dishes.

So, whether you want to settle in for a few drinks or a meal with a group of friends or sit at the window by yourself and watch the eccentricity of Kensington and Chelsea wander by, we hope you’ll find us traditional, unfussy and welcoming.

Oh and we’re dog friendly in the bar downstairs. There should be a water bowl knocking around somewhere…
